Michele Cafaggi is a mime, a clown
and a juggler, and has studied for many years to develop the giant bubbles
technique theatrically.
He studied in Italy and in France with Jango Edwards, Quelli di Grock
, Philippe Gaulier, Marcel Marceau, Philippe Radice, at the Ecole Nationale
du Cirque Fratellini, at the Arti Circensi School of Sala Fontana, and
at the Lega Italiana di improvvisazione teatrale.
From 1993 he works as street artist, collaborating with youth aggregation
centres, retirement homes , jails, schools, kindergartens and hospitals.
He has taken part in the major theatre festivals in Italy and abroad.
As a juggler-mime he took part in fashion shows with Moschino and Calzedonia,
in Fabrizio de André’s “Anime Salve” Italian tour (’97), and in the
Paperissima, Skatafascio, and Solletico TV series.
From 2001 he works with the “Gli eccentrici Dadarò” theatre company
with which he received the Stregatto prize as best emerging company
for youth theatre in 2004. In the same year he won the first prize and
the audience’s award at the International Street Theatre Festival in
Ascona (CH) with Davide Visconti for the clownery show “Escalescion”.
He is the Dottor Sogno (Doctor Dream) in the children’s hospitals where
the Theodora Onlus Foundations in active and he dedicates this show
to all children he has met in the hospitals across the years.
The show was born in 2003 and was presented for first time at the Leonardo
da Vinci National Science and Technology Museum in Milan in the cadre
of the activities organised by the soap bubbles’ scientific laboratory.
Since then it has been staged in several kindergartens in Lombardy and
in several theatrical reviews, such as:
